Jessie Min at Studio

Jessie Min was born in China. Her childhood memories were filled with colour and of parents who always encouraged her to try new things. Jessie was largely brought up by her grandfather who took her “everywhere” meeting new people and giving her a confidence that would later prove vital in business.

Upon graduating university, she was employed in different sectors of industry, getting a taste for commercial life. Jessie's entrepreneurial flair led to new partners and the setting up of a number of toy companies which grew fast, acquiring other businesses, until it was finally sold in 2019.

In 2017, Jessie and her family moved to Portugal. When a serious knee injury halted her daily training routine, that active life of surfing and skiing was paused in late 2024 - and the post surgery recovery demanded she sit still.

Already a life long art collector, the transition into painting was almost a natural next step, quickly realising she had talent and the temperament. Her fluid style, almost constantly in transition, always celebrates her “language of colour.”

From a period where landscapes were front of mind and the myriad of colours that afforded her, Jessie has more recently moved on to larger canvases with deeper, more abstract ambitions and emotional content to match.

In a single year, she has produced over 50 pieces with little sign of slowing down. “Painting is my meditation, my lifestyle, my pleasure. If I can pass on some of that pleasure, that too makes me happy.”
